Government Solar Programs
SASH, MASH and NSHP The California Solar Initiative (CSI) provides solar incentives to customers of the
investor-owned utilities in California to increase the adoption of solar energy. The CSI includes components for all home owners in general, low-income
single-family homeowners and multifamily affordable housing.
The SASH, a component of the CSI, provides financial assistance for the installation of solar photovoltaic
(PV) generating systems on qualifying affordable single-family housing. SASH is implemented by Grid Alternatives,
a nonprofit solar provider whose mission is to, empower communities in need by
providing renewable energy and energy efficiency services, equipment and training.
CSI Low Income Program Administrator Performance Assessment 5,
The Multifamily Affordable Solar Housing Program (MASH), another component of the CSI, provides
financial assistance for the installation of solar PV generating systems on low-income multifamily
housing. MASH is implemented by three Program Administrators—the California Center for Sustainable
Energy (CCSE) in the service territory of San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E), Pacific Gas and Electric
(PG&E), and Southern California Edison (SCE).
The California Energy Commission's New Solar Homes Partnership (NSHP) is part of the comprehensive statewide solar program, known as the California Solar
Initiative. The NSHP provides financial incentives and other support to home builders, encouraging the construction of new, energy efficient solar homes that
save homeowners money on their electric bills and protect the environment.

MASH
The Multifamily Affordable Solar Housing (MASH) Program provides higher incentives to offset the project costs of installing solar on multifamily affordable housing
buildings in California. The goal of the MASH is to incorporate high levels of energy efficiency and high performing solar systems to help enhance the overall quality
of affordable housing.
If you are an appartment complex owner or manager feel free to contact us about getting help on applying for the program and designing a solar energy system to suit
the needs of your building(s).

NHSP
In California's New Solar Homes Partnership, a solar home is a highly energy efficient home that uses photovoltaic (or PV) modules to generate electricity from the sun. While the science to convert sunlight directly into electricity has been around for decades, in recent years both the technology and economics have improved for photovoltaics, and now systems are becoming mainstream. Currently, California has tens of thousands of homeowners enjoying the benefits of solar on their homes.
A solar home with high energy-efficiency features offers homeowners:
Clean, renewable energy
Utility bill savings
Predictable utility costs
Protection against future rising electricity costs.
